Chambersburg, Pennsylvania — December 5, 2006
Global Data Consultants LLC (GDC), a Chambersburg-based information technology firm, will add about 35 jobs through expansion. Greg Courtney, founder, president and CEO, said the company has 97 workers and most of the new jobs will be in the Harrisburg area. GDC has an office on Mumma Road in Wormleysburg, PA.
The company provides services in the areas of software development, networking security and support, operational support and Web design. Most of its clients are large businesses throughout the United States and abroad.
Courtney, 40, incorporated the company in Delaware in 1995. In March 2004, he and two partners made the business a limited liability company in Pennsylvania. Courtney said the company has grown from about 55 employees at the end of 2005. He projects revenue for 2006 at just under $10 million and anticipates nearly 50 percent growth through 2007.
The state will provide financial assistance for the expansion, including guaranteeing half of a $500,000 line of operating credit and guaranteeing $150,000 of a $500,000 loan. Financial support for the company is available through the state’s Second Stage loan guarantee program.
The Second Stage program was created to help 2-to 8-year-old bioscience, advanced technology and manufacturing businesses get loans from commercial lenders for working capital or capital improvements.
